I have been working on updating our ODBC library that we use as the backbone for all of our UNIX processes this week, we are updating the core library that is bought in from an external vendor, also at the same time we are consolidating the versions of wrapper that the processes actually connect via. I have done some work this week on the design of the wrapper, bringing it into the 21st century of database library design; separating the connection from the result. Friday I spent doing some performance tests on how it handles in a multi-threaded environment, turns out quite nicely.

Week 33 – Tax break
Work Capital Gains, Free, TaxToday was the culmination of about 3 months work on a tiny bug, not even a bug, a violation. We have got installed a system that checks for escalated permissions on the application users within a database, our capital gains tax program had this and I have been on a mission to fix it basically. I pushed the release a few hours ago, have done some preliminary checks and they okay, hopefully come Monday they should be all okay, unlike last time!
I have also been working on changing the flows of our reconciliation processes, interesting how many problems you can find when you go a looking.

Missing Weeks?
Work Missing, OverwhelmingWhy don’t the weeks go down to 1? Well basically, because I haven’t rewritten them just yet, I plan to do it over the next few weeks, since I lost my backup. Such is life I guess!
